Evidence

What we can show you, and how sure anyone is about it.

Every claim on this site sits somewhere on a scale from well established to genuinely uncertain. This page says which is which, in the same words we would use with a clinician.

StrongConsistent trials, large effect

We will say this plainly and build a protocol on it.

ModerateReal but variable

We will act on it and measure whether it worked for you.

Very lowNot settled

We will tell you it is not settled rather than imply a result.

ClaimWhat the evidence actually supportsCertainty
Correcting a measured deficiency

Where zinc, B12, folate or vitamin D are genuinely low, correcting them improves sperm parameters in repeated trials. This is the least controversial thing we do.

Strong
Heat exposure and sperm quality

Raised scrotal temperature from long rides, hot baths and laptops is consistently associated with worse motility and DNA integrity, and the effect reverses when the heat is removed.

Strong
Antioxidants and sperm parameters

Count, motility and DNA fragmentation improve in most trials, but the size of the effect varies a lot between studies and between men.

Moderate
Weight, insulin resistance and testosterone

Losing visceral weight raises testosterone and lowers inflammation. The link to sperm parameters is real but slower and less direct.

Moderate
Sleep, stress and the hormonal axis

Short sleep and chronic stress suppress the brain-to-testis signal. Well described physiologically; fewer trials measure sperm outcomes directly.

Moderate
Any supplement improving live birth

The evidence that antioxidant supplements increase live birth is rated very low certainty, and the largest single trial found no benefit. We do not claim this, at any dose.

Very low

Ratings follow the same logic as a GRADE assessment: consistency, effect size and how directly the outcome was measured.

What we will never claim Four sentences you will not read on this site.
That a supplement gets anyone pregnant.
That a number moving is the same as a baby.
That our formulas replace a prescription or surgery.
A success percentage without the sample size beside it.
Where the ranges come from
  1. WHO laboratory manual for the examination and processing of human semen, sixth edition (2021) — every reference range we print.
  2. Cochrane review of antioxidants for male subfertility — the source of the very low certainty rating on live birth.
  3. Standard Indian laboratory ranges for vitamin D, B12, ferritin, HbA1c and lipids, as reported by the partner lab that runs your sample.

Where your reporting lab uses a different range, that range takes precedence over ours. Nothing on this page is a diagnosis, and none of it replaces a consultation with a clinician.

05 — A worked example

Every marker read on its own scale, tested twice.

One man’s report. Left number is where he started, right number is where he ended — that is the whole story, and there is nothing else to decode.

Vitamin D

Was low. Corrected outright.

DNA damage in sperm

Out of the high band

Less damage inside each sperm.

Sperm that move

Sample figures, not a promise. What we commit to is measuring the same six things again on the same scale at the same lab — and showing you the comparison even when nothing moved.

07 — Straight answers

The questions worth asking us first.

Will this get my partner pregnant?

We cannot promise that, and you should be careful of anyone who does. What we work on is sperm quality and the things behind it. The evidence that antioxidants improve live birth is rated very low certainty, and the best single trial found no benefit. We would rather say that here than in the small print.

Why six months and not three?

Sperm you make today reflect roughly the last seventy-four days. Three months shows whether the direction is right; six shows whether it held. We measure at both, and we do not ask you to keep buying past the point where the numbers stop moving.

I have used steroids or TRT. Should I say so?

Yes, and it changes what we recommend completely. Anything that adds testosterone from outside switches off the signal that makes sperm, and no supplement works around that. Tell us and we will route you to a clinician instead of selling you a protocol that cannot work.

What happens to my data?

Your answers are yours. We do not need an account or a phone number to give you the report, sensitive answers are kept out of the shareable version, and you can delete your record at any time.

What if I already have a semen analysis?

Bring it. If it is recent and complete we will read it rather than repeat it, and start you at the panel that adds something new instead of charging you twice for the same numbers.
